The most common form of public transit here is the Jeepney. They were originally constructed out of American military jeeps left over from World War II; with a driver’s seat in the front and two long benches in the back, they can easily carry more than twenty people across town.
One of the most interesting things about Jeepneys is the method of payment. Passengers will simply pass some coins up to the front of the vehicle (kind of like a game of telephone, but passing along money instead of messages); the driver will count out change (as he drives) and then pass the coins back. Sometimes there will be someone in the back who collects money (in the local dialect, a ‘conductor’), but the rest of the time everything is based on the honor system.
Today while riding a Jeepney I dropped another passenger's change and couldn't find it.

Did you drop it into your POCKET???
