This weekend I took a two-day trip to Siquijor. It’s a small island an hour away from Dumaguete that Lonely Planet describes as a “spooky province of mysterious healers, charming beaches and spellbinding sunsets”; that description seems like it’s compensating for something, and I now know that it leaves out the mind blowingly terrifying ferry ride there and back. I’m tuckered out, so I’ll just put up some pictures for now and get back to the longer posts tomorrow.

| The beach at my cottage |

| Toilet spider, my Friday night entertainment |
| A beach |
| Fresh ube-flavored milk -- probably the best part of the weekend |
| Sunset from my cottage (or, from the construction site right next to my cottage) |
Looks lovely! Inquiring minds want to know more about the ferry ride, that is, if you haven't already blocked the terrifying memories.
